Lake Schools has implemented a program called the MVP Mentoring Program, which stands for Making Valuable Partnerships. It started in the fall of 2018 as a way to reach at-risk students in grades K-7. Students nominated are matched with a trusted adult mentor and these pairs meet every week during each school year for about 30 minutes.
There are mentor support sessions for the mentors, as well as organized Fun Nights during the school year where the mentors and mentees can hang out together outside of school.
